Counting Down: Five Days until Take-Off

Well, only five more days until departure. Excitement was in the air all week at Madonna as the 14 senior students were visibly, and audibly, excited in anticipation of their Italian March Break adventure. The next few school days will be electric.

While everyone is looking forward to boarding our plane at Pearson International, I am certain that everyone also has a list of too many tasks to get done before the departure on Thursday. The students have assignments to complete prior to the break, plus clothing decisions, packing, picking up the last few needed items, charging MP3 and camera batteries, and more. The faculty is likewise busy getting marks and early semester reports in, as well as taking care of the numerous last minute details and tasks - like creating a blog so those staying at home can follow the Madonna Miss-Adventures in Italy.

A final pre-departure meeting is on the schedule for Monday after classes. Trip materials and other items need to be distributed and airport details need to be discussed and a few last minute forms and fees need to be collected from a few students emulating Hamlet's procrastinating habit.

A big thanks goes out to Dori at M.P. Mark Adler's office for sending us away with some Canadian pins and flags. Mille grazie to Mrs. Raco for the Toronto City Hall pins for the girls, to Madonna principal Mrs. Bellissimo for all she has done to help out with the preparations, and to Mrs. Camerlengo and Mrs. Sansone at MCSS for their very valuable assistance, too.

More on Monday after the meeting. Ciao

  1. Ah yes, I always love the seemingly endless list of small details that need to be taken care of pre-trip. Looking forward to following the trip.

What do you expect accommodations will be like? Any particular highlights you're looking forward to?

  2. Hi Everyone,

I can't believe this day has finally arrived. As I write this there is only about an hour to take off and I do hope all went well checking in.

Firstly, by the time you get back, EVERYONE should know what my last name means. Also, I hope you all thanked your parents for giving this fabulous opportunity which will remain with you for the rest of your life.

Addesso, vi auguro un buon viaggio e speriamo che tutto va bene. Divertitevi (but not too much).
